About ASICTS

Founded in 2021, the Association of Information and Communication Technology Students (ASICTS) is the official student association representing all ICT students at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). As the recognized student body for the School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT), we serve as the bridge between students, faculty, and the university administration.

ASICTS was established to provide a unified voice for students across the four ICT departments: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, and Information Technology. We work closely with the school administration to address student concerns, improve academic programs, and enhance the overall learning experience within the ICT faculty.

As a school association, we organize academic support programs, study groups, and tutorial sessions to help students excel in their coursework. We also coordinate with faculty members to organize guest lectures, industry visits, and academic conferences. Additionally, we facilitate communication between students and the school administration, ensuring that student voices are heard in matters affecting their academic journey.

Beyond academics, ASICTS plays a vital role in campus life by organizing departmental events, inter-departmental competitions, and social activities that foster unity among ICT students. We maintain strong relationships with the Student Union Government and other academic associations, working together to create a vibrant and supportive campus community for all ICT students.
